About Slovenia

Slovenia is hidden in the heart of Europe, surrounded by high Alps and the Adriatic Sea. It is a land where Pannonian plains meet the mysterious Karst, where hills and valleys show off their intact nature. Green mountains, lakes, waterfalls, forests, caves, hills, plains, rivers and the sea – all on 20.273 km2 of land. Beautiful nature is filled with historic buildings, castles, churches and parks, where old traditional customs are still alive and the people are friendly and cheerful.

Slovenia borders Italy, Austria, Hungary and Croatia. The coastal climate is Mediterranean, and continental in the plateaus and valleys to the east which makes this country an ideal tourist destination throughout the year.

About Portorož & St. Bernardin Convention Centre

The city of Portorož got its name from the beautiful surrounding nature as its name means Port of Roses. This lively and modern tourist city began to flourish in the 19th century, when the positive effects of the mud of the nearby saltpans were discovered. The city is visited throughout the year and has therefore developed a diverse tourist infrastructure. Guests can visit a wide range of health spas, swim in indoor pools with heated sea water, visit casinos, take boat trips and the like.
Halfway from Piran to Portorož you can find the city of Bernardin, notable for its modern congress centre set in the hillside with panoramic views over the Adriatic Sea and Slovenian coast and less than a 10 minute walk away from both Piran and Portorož.
