It will be almost two decades since we lost the opportunity to host the 67th Congress of the European Orthodontic Society Congress in Bled due to the tragic war in the former Yugoslavia. We have now been given this chance again and I am delighted to have the pleasure to invite you to the 86th EOS Congress that will be held in Portorož, Slovenia, at the St. Bernardin Adriatic Resort and Convention Centre, from the 15th to the 19th June 2010.

The EOS Congresses have always been the highlight of professional and social gatherings of orthodontists, and the organizing committees of each host country take it upon themselves to attract and interest as many participants as possible with their scientific, social and technical programmes. I promise that we will do our best not only to present new achievements and findings of our professional and scientific work, but also to show you Portorož, the Port of Roses, which is situated on the coast and where some of the most beautiful and interesting parts of Slovenia are located.

As we know from experience, many Europeans do not have a great knowledge of our country, in fact we became an independent state only in 1991 and a new member of the EU in 2004. On the 1st January 2007 we also adopted the Euro as our currency. The history and other important cultural information is available online. However, if you do not have time to browse the internet you are warmly invited to come to Portorož to see everything with your own eyes and feel SLOVENIA.
